Dale knew he wanted to be in radio since he was very young. He literally walked by a radio and heard a man's voice come out of it and said to his mother, "who's that guy, how does that work?" She said that he was miles away talking into a microphone and that it was through the air to the radio. Dale thought that was the coolest thing.
From then on that is what he wanted to do.
He applied at what seemed a ‘million’ radio stations, when in September of 1964 Dale showed up in Syracuse, NY at WOLF/1490 AM. Just the day before a jock had quit and they also had another position to fill. The Program Director asked for a tape of Dale’s show but he didn't have a one because he had no experience. The PD gave him some records and a tape, sent him into a studio and told him to make believe he was on the air just to see how he would sound. That was at 5 PM and at 6 the same night he was on the air for real and has been working in radio ever since.
Dale went on to work at KFRC in San Francisco from ‘66-‘68 during the “Psychedelic 60’s” music scene.
Dale came to Boston in August of 1968 and the first song he played was the Grassroots and Midnight Confessions. Ironically it is still one of the most requested songs today on Oldies 103.3!
Several years ago Dale was inducted into the DJ section of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame!
This year Dale celebrates his 40th anniversary in Boston and is psyched to be here and still “having a ball” at Oldies 103.3!

June Knight wakes up Boston with the latest news and information on The Breakfast Club with Dale Dorman.
June graduated from Emerson College with a degree in Mass Communications. College radio stations WERS-FM and WECB-AM is where June fell in love with radio. After graduation, an internship at Kiss108 FM-Boston payed off as June was hired to work nights. Next stop… Metro Traffic, doing news and traffic for various stations. Oldies 103.3 then brought her on board in 1999 as Co-Host, News Director, and Host of Public Affairs.
Born and raised in Medford, Massachusetts, June is the youngest of 5 and the only girl!
When not working she enjoys spending time with Shane (her Golden Retriever)... “When I’m not out with my friends at places like the beach, Suffolk Downs or The Colonnade Rooftop Pool, I’m pretty low key…cooking, working out, spending time with my family, and escaping to Maine or New Hampshire. Oh ya…let’s not forget about the time spent watching the Sox and Pats!”

What is your favorite Oldies Song? Dave Clark Five's "Catch Us If You Can". This is one of those great songs that makes you want to roll down the windows, crank up the volume and slip on your Ray-Bans! Of course, it helps to be in a car cruising down the highway when you do this.
What is your favortie movie? Anything by Alfred Hitchcock would qualify as my favorite movie, as I think he is the consummate master of suspense! You watch his movies and you're absolutely riveted! And the best part is he accomplishes this type of nail-biting anticipation without showing any of the gory violence! It all takes place in the "theater of the mind" - just like radio!
If you could have a theme song what would it be? "Chicago" by Frank Sinatra. Since I'm a closeted member of the infamous "Rat-Pack", I picture myself as being as cool as Frank, as Suave as Dean, as hip as Sammy, as classy as Peter and as funny as Joey. Unfortunately, nothing could be further from the truth but it's a lie with which I can easily live!
What is your favorite place to vacation? The Cape (But, then, what would you expect from a native New Englander?) It's been an annual summer destination for my family since I was a baby.
What is your favorite junk food? My favorite junk food is chocolate cake covered in chocolate ice cream that is then drizzled with chocolate syrup, smothered with chocolate whipped cream and topped off with a chocolate-covered cherry. Do you see a theme, here?
What is your Guilty pleasure? Watching "Reality" TV shows involving musicians. (All together now "Flava Flave!!!!)
What is the best concert you've ever been to? Chuck Berry's at Xavarian Brothers High School. This man OWNS the stage when he performs
If you could do any job but your own what would you do? I would LOVE to do voice-over work for the various rides down at Walt Disney World. Not only would it be cool but it would also preserve my legacy. I mean, long after I'm gone, my children's children would still be able to hear their grandmother impart bits of profound wisdom. You know, sage advice such as "Please, keep your hands and feet inside the car at all times." "Make sure the safety bar has locked in place". And, lest we forget, "When disembarking, please, exit to the right."
What's your Zodiac Sign? Gemini - the twins. This makes perfect sense considering that, as a working mother, I often times feel as though I'm two people rolled into one. Maybe that explains the voices I hear...
What was your first job? Taking car of the "penny candy" counter in my parent's variety store. I was five years old. Which, coincidently, was the age I got the first of many cavities!
What do you like to do in your spare time? Excuse me, but what is this "spare time" of which you speak?
If they made an Oldies 103.3 movie who would play you? What's the name of tha super-talented actress who looks like Angelina Jolie, moves like Jennifer Lopez, sings like Mariah Carey, has the acting ability of Meryl Streep and the comedic timing of Lucille Ball? She's the one I want playing me!
What's your favorite TV show? My favorite TV show is "I Love Lucy". Not only was it well written and superbly acted, but it also reflected a "simpler" time in life when personal morals were clearly defined and proper social behavior was expected. And I love the fact that no matter what crazy stunt Lucy pulled, she and Ricky would always make-up at the end of each 30-minute show. If only life worked that way!
If you could have dinner with any famous person, dead or alive, who would it be? John Lennon. There are so many questions I'd love to ask him.
